Ranger Key Guide: Different Types of Keys

Ok so I know alot of people are having trouble understanding or telling the difference about the different types of ranger keys. So lets get started.

DX Keys

DX Keys are deluxe keys. They come with toys, merchandise, and key sets. They are the best of the best when it comes to ranger keys. The decals are painted on and the flipping part of the key is held in by a metal rod. These are the more expensive keys of course. The key sets are retailing 1,050yen and thats for 5 keys, you should expect to pay alot more however when importing to the US or anywhere other than Japan.
Gashapon Keys

Gashapon keys are keys that come out of the gashapon machines(capsule toys). These keys are the low point on the pole. But that doesnt mean they arent great. The keys come in 3 parts. Theres the head, body and legs. The decals are stickers that must be applied and the flipping action is held by the nubs of the legs that you snap into the body piece. Some of the colors on the stickers arent that good(like the gold looking more like orange). But the thing is that there is a huge chance that there will be gashapon keys that have no DX counterpart, meaning that in order to get a full set of ranger keys, you will need to fill with gashapon. They go for 200yen each at retail, however again expect to pay more if your not in Japan
Candy Keys

Candy Keys are the child of gashapon and DX keys. They have painted on details and the metal pin, however you must apply 2 stickers, which are the black sticker between the legs of the ranger, as well as the back for when the key is in key mode. This being said these keys are basically the same as DX, just with those 2 stickers that you have to put on. They go for 400yen retail, and unless you're a hard core key collector, you can skip this series.
Limited Edition(LE) Keys

Limited Edition keys are exactly the same as DX keys, in terms of the key itself. The difference lies in the Mobirate function. When a LE key is put in the Mobirate, its says "Special Ranger Key! HA-YO!", then you must press the center star button to hear the normal sounds. These keys only come with Telebi-Kun Magazine, or other special releases(like the Limited Edition Gokaiger Theme CD). Like the candy keys, if you're not a die hard key collector, you can skip this series. They will be releasing normal versions of the keys so theres no worries about that if you want to skip these keys.
